Jim earned a Duke MBA & PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering and earned BS degrees in Chemistry and Zoology from the University of Florida.
Dr. Sund’s publications include quantum theory in photonics, biosensor biomimicry, and non-linear algorithms for predictive modeling.
Jim’s professional background also includes i) strategic & management consultant to Fortune companies, NASA, DOD, and university tech transfer offices, ii) computer security lead for US EPA National Computing Center, iii) investment banker, iv) Sales & Marketing management for his family’s residential development company.
Prof. Sund served as Duke and NCSU Faculty Project Mentor to hundreds of students in Graduate School Practicums.
Jeff leads computer science and computer engineering at Scinovia Corp.
As a Principal Engineer at Cisco, Jeff led teams in virtualization of network devices in Research Triangle Park.
Jeff earned a MS in Computer Science from NCSU and a BSEE at Virginia Tech.
Steve is responsible for the business operations at Scinovia.
Mr. Hathaway previously served as COO at Viztek, a medical device and disruptive Healthcare IT company with SaaS-based enterprise PACS solutions for Hospitals and Imaging Centers. He managed operational scale-up for 10X growth in a few years, which led directly to a large acquisition by Konica Minolta Healthcare in 2015, where he continued as VP of Global Operations, Healthcare IT.
Previously, he developed and managed programs and support organizations for Siemens Healthcare and Eastman Kodak Company to deliver technology-driven business services, outstanding customer service, and profitable growth.
Steve maintains active involvement in several community service organizations while volunteering with organizations who are focused on Animal welfare and Veterans affairs.
Dr. Portnoy leads Scinovia’s US regulatory strategy and is a member of the Scinovia Medical Advisory Board.
He has served as FDA Branch Chief of Interventional Cardiology Devices.
Dr. Portnoy is founder of Prism MD Consulting where he advises medical device manufacturers regarding regulatory strategy, clinical trial design issues, and technical considerations to gain FDA market-approval for their products. He previously worked as a consultant at Biologics Consulting Group and PharmaNet.
Dr. Portnoy is a graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine and earned an MS in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
